Corvallis, OR to McKenzie Bridge, OR

Distance - 91.2
Time - 6:21:20
Elevation Gain - 1749 ft.
Max Speed - 27.5
Average Speed - 14.4

It is still hot! 95° in McKenzie bridge. Looks like the mid 90s for the next few days.

No big climbs today. The day started with a gradual 1% rise to the south end of the Willamette Valley with brisk headwinds. Fields of tall fescue, wheat, blueberries and strawberries lined the road. Also saw a cow headbutting a cast-iron bathtub. You will have to ask me about that one.

At Eugene the route turned east and headed up the McKenzie river. Gradual 2% rise with up-river tailwinds. Many rafters on the McKenzie river. There were also two covered bridges. Haven't seen that in a while.

Tomorrow begins with a 3600 foot climb over Santiam Pass. Can you see the snow in the picture below? Hoping for a slight reprieve from this heat at the top of the pass. I know it won't last long as I plunge down into the valley below. Good luck to me.
